Mid-south Pilot Killed, Investigation
Continues
THE PILOT OF A SINGLE ENGINE CESSNA
HAS BEEN KILLED IN FAYETTE COUNTY OVER THE WEEKEND. FROM WBBJTV DOT
COM, AVIATION OFFICIALS SAY THE PILOT CRASHED EAST OF COLLIERVILLE ON
SATURDAY. A SPOKESWOMAN FOR THE FAA TOLD A MEMPHIS NEWSPAPER ONLY ONE
PERSON WAS ON BOARD. SHE SAID THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY ABOUT
2:30 P.M. SATURDAY AND THEN COMMUNICATION WAS LOST. THE AIRCRAFT WAS
REGISTERED TO VECTOR-USA FROM OLIVE BRANCH. AUTHORITIES CONTINUE TO
INVESTIGATE THE CRASH.

REPORTS JIM GARRIS GOT BEHIND THE BURNING CAR OF 87 YEAR OLD BESSIE
DOVER. NEIGHBOR NICK GRANDCOLAS GRABBED A SLEDGEHAMMER AND BROKE OUT
THE BACK WINDOW AS GARRIS REACHED IN AND PULLED HER OUT. MRS. DOVER
CALLS THE MEN ...HER ANGELS.

Numbers Up in 2008

T-W-R-A Officers spend long hours
trying to keep boaters safe. Over half of B-U-I's in Tennessee came
from Percy Priest or Old Hickory Lakes. The T-W-R-A says nearly
70-people have been caught boating drunk this season with several
people caught on Percy Priest and Old Hickory Lakes, over the 4th of
July holiday weekend. The T-W-R-A says this summer will surpass last
year's for B-U-I's.
Save at the Pump with My
Gallons Card

With gas prices averaging' 4-dollars
a gallon in Tennessee, there's no telling how high gas prices will
go...But one company wants to help you save at the pump by locking in
the price to save you money in the future. "My Gallons," based in
Florida" basically works like a debit card. You can buy as many
gallons as you want at a given price, and redeem them when the prices
go up --- even if it's a year down the road. "My Gallons" says their
cards can be used at 95- percent of gas stations across the country.
New Law Permits Smaller &
Slower Vehicles
on the Road

Thanks to a new law, medium-speed
electric or gasoline-powered vehicles with four wheels that can travel
up to 35-miles per hour can use roads where the speed limit is 40.
Golf carts are excluded. Tennessee joins Montana and Washington as the
only states with such a law. The bill passed overwhelmingly in May.
