Tenn. Mirrors The Nation, Teen
Pregnancy Rate
from trn
The Tennessee Department of Health says in 2006 more than 4,000
girls, ages 15 to 17, got pregnant statewide. Parents count on the
schools to tackle the topic of sex education. On the other hand,
surveys show parents are the biggest influence on a teenager. Teens
say they want more conversation at home about family values and
expectations. More than half of Tennessee's high school students
reported having sex in a 2007 survey. The teen pregnancy rate in the
Volunteer State mirrors the rest of the nation. Officials say while
the rate dropped in the 19-90's...it's slowly creeping back up. There
were 35-pregnancies for every 1,000 girls statewide; 48-pregnancies
per 1,000 girls in Davidson County. Teens say they want more
conversation at home about family values and expectations.

Police say Kearse was speeding and swerving several times, while

Kearse away Sunday morning. He'll have to appear in court to face
D-U-I charges. Kearse returned to the Titans as a free agent in March
signing a 2-year deal worth $6-million dollars.
The suburban Nashville home of Ex-Tennessee Titan Adam ``Pacman''

lottery reserve funds of nearly $460-million dollars to make
Tennessee's "K thru 12" schools more energy efficient has been signed
