WOES, TRN]
Even though oil futures prices are heading downward, the prices at the gas pump
keep climbing. Triple-A
says they climbed overnight to a national record of more than 4-02. Tennessee's
average is typically
lower, and yesterday was no exception at 3-86 a gallon.
[NURSING HOMES, TRN]
State inspections have uncovered an unprecedented number of dangerous living
conditions at nursing homes
during the past year. A report from the Government Accountability Office says
Tennessee is one of nine
states that most commonly failed to identify serious violations.
[ALABAMA SUES, TRN]
The drummer for the country group Alabama has been sued by his fellow band
members, who say he was
overpaid more than 200-thousand dollars..The lawsuit claims in 2003, Mark
Herndon was paid for his share
of net merchandise sales during the band's "American Farewell Tour" before a
final accounting was done.
[DEBT STRESS, TRN]
More debt means more stress and more health problems for more Americans. An
Associated Press-AOL Health
poll says people stressed out over high debt are more likely to report serious
health problems, including
ulcers, severe depression and even heart attacks.
