An area man charged with domestic assault for beating his wife...now faces a murder charge. WPSDTV DOT COM reports The Weakley County Tennessee Sheriff's Department arrested Jason Kayser for assaulting his wife April Kayser about a week ago. She was taken to Volunteer Community Hospital with head injuries...and was later taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center. April Kayser died this past Thursday...from her injuries sustained during the beating on April 11th. Jason Kayser is now charged with second degree murder in the death of his wife and is being held in the Weakley County Detention Center. Investigators are waiting for autopsy results.

THE NORTHWEST DYERSBURG UTILITY DISTRICT RECEIVED A LOAN FOR EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR U-S-D-A RURAL DEVELOPMENT FRIDAY. WBBJTV REPORTS THE MONEY WILL BE USED TO REFURBISH THE AREA'S WATER UTILITY SYSTEMS WHICH DATE BACK TO THE 1960'S. UTILITY OFFICALS SAY THERE WILL BE MANY OTHER USES FOR THE MONEY.

MOUNT CARMEL, Ill. - The U.S. Geological Survey says it has recorded the second strongest aftershock so far from Friday's Illinois earthquake. Geologists say the temblor just after 12:30 this morning, registered at 4.5 magnitude at its epicenter about 5 miles northwest of Mount Carmel. The location is in the same area as Friday's early-morning 5.2-magnitude earthquake. The Monday morning aftershock was at 18th since Friday's quake.
