THE MOTHER OF A 2007 MURDER VICTIM IS SPEAKING OUT ABOUT THE FOSTER CARE OF HER GRANDSON. FROM WBBJ TV DOT COM, CHERYL ALFORD'S DAUGHTER JODY WAS SHOT AND KILLED INSIDE HER DYER HOME LAST SUMMER. SINCE THEN, JODY'S YOUNG SON TAYLOR HAS BEEN STAYING WITH HIS GRANDFATHER, ALFORD'S EX-HUSBAND TOMMY, BUT ALFORD SAYS AFTER THE MURDER SHE WAS NEVER CONTACTED ABOUT THE CUSTODY OF HER GRANDSON, NOR WAS SHE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME HIS CARETAKER.

IN BUSINESS NEWS, SOME SIXTY EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN LAID OFF AT A PLANT IN PARIS. The Tennessee Radio Network reports commuters across the state may have fewer semis crowding them on the roads today as independent truck drivers across the country have threatened to strike. Truckers say the cause for the strike has been soaring diesel prices. Diesel has reached 4 dollars a gallon in many areas of the country.
